So I went to meet up for a friend on my lunch break, and her office happens to be at Lake & Michigan Avenue. Coincidentally, a Giordano‘s resides next door. What a shame… today was a rough day with food floating around the office, and I could not resist stopping in for some lunchtime ZA!
For just over $6, a patron is bestowed their own personal 6″ deep dish pizza… full of sauce, bread, and cheese. I stuck with the plain cheese today and sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather with my pizza. At first, the sauce was overwhelming, but really it’s all the bread involved that makes this pizza a lot to handle.
I love the Giordano’s taste, but for the first time in a while, I ate slowly and got full after eating half of the small pizza. I mean, there’s really not much to say about Giordano’s. It is already “Best Pizza in America by NBC. Chicago Tribune writes “Giordano’s pizza is a must when in Chicago.” New York Times posts, “The Ultimate Pizza.” So really there’s no discussion UNLESS we are comparing pizza places, which isn’t my goal today for my post.
Speaking of comparing pizza, Lou Malnati’s and Uno’s Pizzeria are competing in the travel channel’s show “Food Wars” TOMORROW NIGHT! Set your tivo’s! Should be a blast! I’m definitely looking forward to that!
Also, Lauren Newman (newtritionblog.com) and I are hitting up Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder tomorrow night in Lincoln Park! Can’t wait! Look out for a Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder review! This is more under the radar than the classic chain chicago restaurants so we’re in for a treat!
