Hubbard Inn

I have anxiously awaited checking out one of the new Chicago  hotspots, Hubbard Inn. When I arrived last night, the warm, comfortable ambiance welcomed us into the room. I met my friend, Alyssa, for dinner, and we enjoyed a few glasses of wine with our meal.When I read the menu, my eyes were instantly drawn to the flatbread section, so I knew we had to share a flatbread as an appetizer.

The three cheese flatbread is made with Fresh Mozzarella, Pecorino Tuscano, and Monterey Jack Cheese. The pizza is cut into four slices and there is a drizzle of oil, basil, and some red pepper flakes on top. My one photo doesn’t do it justice, but it was a nice prequel to our meal.

Three Cheese Flatbread

The crust was crunchy, the tomato sauce was flavorful (not too sweet or tangy), and we enjoyed the taste of each of the cheeses. I especially enjoyed the presentation. Most of their dishes are presented on a cutting board, and for some reason, I found it intriguing and fitting for the atmosphere.

I had the hamburger for my next course and found it perfectly cooked. The special touch included a balsamic roasted tomato, YUM. Alyssa enjoyed her scallops as well. Overall, the Hubbard Inn served a great meal! It was nice to have the flatbread appetizer since they didn’t serve bread at the table, and we were hungry!
