Swizzle Inn- Bermuda

Spinach & Onion Pizza- Swizzle Inn

Swizzle inn, swagger out… that’s the motto of this timeless pub that’s been around forever in Bermuda. If you are in town, this is a TOP dining/drinking attraction, and it’s not to be missed. There are two locations: the original is near the airport, and the other isĀ  on the other side of the island on South Shore Rd. They are famous for their Rum Swizzle, Bermuda’s national drink. It’s a great place to stop by before a flight or once you arrive. The food is reasonably priced and the swizzle is stellar:).

This past trip, Jon & I had a late lunch, and ventured over to the Swizzle Inn. I decided to try the pizza this time. They have a few suggested pizzas and also the option to create your own. I created my own spinach & onion pie.

The size of the pizza was perfectly suited for one person. I enjoyed the charred crust and the crunchy cheese. One of the most interesting things was that the pizza was ‘airy’ and had a great crunchy taste at the same time. Here are the pics to prove it.

Look at that puffy dough.
Slice-worthy. Crunchy edges
There could have been a little more char on the bottom, but I still liked the fluffy part... and it wasn't to floppy.
The sauce was a basic red sauce... not much flavor, and the cheese was a bit overpowering, but there was an adequate distribution of spinach and onions.
