So I’m hanging in Temple, Texas for the next few months at my new client. The town has a ton of chain restaurants: Chilli’s, IHOP, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, etc. BJ’s is a chain, and I had never been to one before. They have a menu that is almost as large as Cheesecake Factory, and they have a list of lunch specials. They have a full pizza menu, but we’ll save that for another day.
I ordered the flatbread & salad combo and was pleased with the size. I had the fresh basil with italian sausage pizza, but I think I only found 2 or three bits of sausage throughout. That was interesting. Otherwise, it was a very healthy dish, not a lot of cheese, and the crust was crunchy on the edges and floppy in the middle. I don’t LOVE their flatbread, but I love the price & healthy feeling I had when I finished. I wasn’t full after the meal, but I resisted ordering a mini pizookie, which is a dangerously awesome dessert. Overall, the flatbread/salad combo at BJs is fine, but don’t expect to be wowed by it.
Service is not the best with parties larger than six, but otherwise, I think you’re safe!
