Many of you know that I love Home Run Inn’s frozen pizza line. My dad in Florida is able to get them there, so he often has a few in the freezer 🙂 Home run has dine-in locations as well, but a handful of them closed many years ago. We were so excited to see a new location open in Lakeview this year, right by the Belmont red/brown line stop! We loved walking into this cozy, brick wall sportsbar-style restaurant.
First, we shared some wings (asked for the fire wings) and a caesar salad. The entree-size salad (non family-style) is a large enough salad to share for 3 people, so no need to over-order. Jon and George liked the wings… they weren’t as spicy as the name suggested.
Then the main event. We had SO many pizzas… all were lovely, and we attempted to finish them all, but we fell short a bit :). We loved the crushed tomato sauce on some of the pies, and yes, the classic cheese was devoured first. So many great topping combos.
This is a great spot in the city for pepole to watch sporting events at due to the large screens. Also, our server was beyond helpful and helped guide our big eyes to the right size pizzas & appetizers so we could enjoy a little bit of everything. Thanks HRI!! Happy to have you in the city of Chicago!
