Uncommon Ground

I’ve always heard the best things about Uncommon Ground, so I was excited to celebrate Bailey’s birthday there. Ordered the only pizza on the menu, of course.

Sausage, spinach, red pepper, and fancy cheeses. The crust was a flavorful naan type of bread. Very satisfying. They had stuffed squash and loved it. I look forward to trying more of their food options when I can.

Roots Handmade Pizza

I was so happy to check out Roots Handmade Pizza in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. The restaurant/bar was aesthetically pleasing, and I can see this being a great local joint along with the long list of beers on tap. The garage door windows go up in the summertime and their booths have benches winding around to the next table.

Because it was Sunday, Roots had a mimosa special with four splits of Champagne and a pitcher of orange juice. They presented it in an adorable way and my friends and I were happy to indulge.

I was so happy that the girls were up for some pizza and drinks, so we met at Pizzeria da Nella Cucina Napoletana, about ¼ mile from the Fullerton red line stop. Continue reading Pizzeria Da Nella

Balena

I was so happy to spend some time in Chicago after Labor Day weekend. A handful of girlfriends got together for an early meal at Balena, a place I have been wanting to check out for a while. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with high ceilings and a warm & rustic feeling.
